Han Xiao has been appointed Chief of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Basking Ridge. Dr. Xiao is a board-certified medical oncologist whose practice includes general medical oncology, with a focus on head and neck cancer, genitourinary malignancies, and gastrointestinal cancers. She received her medical degree in 1984 from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in the People's Republic of China, where she also did postgraduate research in cancer genetics and cytogenetics. She subsequently was a research fellow at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and completed her medical residency at St. Mary's Hospital, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Xiao came to Memorial Sloan-Kettering in 1994 as a fellow in medical oncology and hematology. Since joining the attending staff in 1997, she has seen patients at Memorial Sloan-Kettering's regional care facilities on Long Island.
