NY Yankee Joba Chamberlain visits MSKCC's department of pediatrics. Runtime: 5:30 minutes.

Children undergoing treatment in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Department of Pediatrics got a close-up look at a sports star on December 20 when New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain came for a visit. Wearing a Yankee-blue Santa hat, Chamberlain met with patients, signed balls, and posed for pictures.

"He's a hero, and we've had many of the Yankees come by and spend a long time with kids, often during some of the most discouraging periods in their lives," said Richard J. O'Reilly, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.

The event was part of Yankees Universe, a partnership between the baseball team and Memorial Sloan-Kettering that helps raise money for pediatric cancer research and treatment through the sale of limited-edition Yankees Universe T-shirts.
