Full Title
The Sexual Health of Rectal Cancer Patients: A Pilot Study
Purpose

The purpose of this study is to learn how treatment affects emotional and social well-being and to evaluate a new counseling program in patients who have been treated for rectal or anal cancer.

The counseling is designed to improve sexual health and quality of life, as well as physical and emotional well-being. Researchers will compare the new type of counseling with the standard care people receive after treatment for rectal or anal cancer.

Eligibility

Participants in this study will include patients (age 21 and older) who have completed treatment for stage I-III rectal or anal cancer at least one year prior and show no signs of recurrence or metastasis. Patients must be able to communicate in English.
