I am a board-certified gastroenterologist with a special interest and expertise in therapeutic endoscopy and specialized nutrition support for cancer patients. Using advanced endoscopic techniques I can access the length of the gastrointestinal tract to diagnose, treat, and palliate cancers that develop there.
To diagnose and treat cancers I use procedures including colonoscopy, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, small intestinal enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), fine-needle aspiration, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and capsule endoscopy (in which patients swallow a capsule containing a miniature wireless camera). These procedures enable me to obtain images of the GI tract and tissue samples for biopsy. In some patients I can ablate, or destroy, intraluminal tumors and polyps using a variety of endoscopic techniques.
