To provide patients relief from intestinal blockages I perform endoscopic procedures to insert stents and drainage tubes, which allow the GI tract to resume functioning.
During treatment, cancer patients may develop gastrointestinal tract failure and may require nutrition support, which I can provide using total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and feeding tubes.
My research involves developing and testing novel endoscopic techniques. In one area of research I am developing new ways to access the biliary tract to place internal drains for patients with jaundice. I am also developing techniques to remove large colonic polyps and precancerous lesions in the esophagus and stomach so that patients with these problems can avoid major surgery.
