Laura Ciavolino

Nurse Practitioner

I have had the pleasure of caring for and learning from oncology patients since joining Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1994. I started out as a clinical nurse on the Bone Marrow Transplantation Service and after subsequently working for many years as a nurse practitioner at a separate facility in New Jersey, I returned to the institution in 2009 — on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Services.

When I am on the job, I help to manage the care of inpatients receiving chemotherapy who also have other complicated medical problems. I am involved in all aspects of inpatient cancer care, from carrying out chemotherapy orders to evaluating daily tests and interventions and overseeing admission to the hospital through the Urgent Care Center.
