To schedule an appointment, call the Pituitary and Skull Base Tumor Center at 212-639-3935, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, ET, Monday through Friday.
Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to fax any pertinent reports, such as MRI results, blood work results, and visual fields. This information will help us direct you to the most appropriate doctor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
After this information is reviewed, we will contact you to let you know the name of your doctor and where to go for your first appointment.
The clinics of neurosurgeon Viviane Tabar and endocrinologist Monica Girotra are located at the main campus of Memorial Sloan Kettering, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan between East 67th and 68th Streets (1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065).
How to Prepare for Your First Appointment
During your first appointment, you will have a consultation with your physician and his or her nurse. Our goal is to answer all of your questions so that you leave the appointment feeling informed and reassured about your diagnosis.
Patients usually get blood work done the same day on-site at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Please note that we do not ask new patients to fast prior to this blood work, so eating and drinking is permitted.
What You Need to Bring
Your Memorial Sloan Kettering doctor will need to review any tests, procedures, or treatments that you have had. Review the list below to determine what you need to bring to your first appointment.
Bring your radiology tests — MRI or CT scans — that were taken to produce images of the tumor. The images may be on a disk or on film.
Bring the bottles of all medications you take — those prescribed by doctors and those you buy over the counter. This should include bottles of any vitamins or herbal products you take.
The bottles should indicate the following information:
- the name of each medicine
- the dose you take
- how often you take it
Other Medical Records
Bring any other pertinent medical records, such as lab results and visual field test results.
Contact Information of Primary Care Physician

Patients should expect to see the outpatient nurse in the clinic if they meet with Dr. Tabar.
