I am a surgical oncologist whose clinical focus is the treatment of patients with soft tissue sarcomas of the chest, abdomen, and extremeties. As a member of the Sarcoma Disease Management Team, I work closely with members of the pathology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology departments. Together, we draw on the vast experience of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s sarcoma service to develop individualized treatment plans for each of our patients.
My clinical and laboratory research focuses on understanding the reasons why sarcomas develop, why some tumors become increasingly aggressive, and why some patients are at increased risk for tumor recurrence and spread. With the assistance of grants from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and philanthropic funds, I hope that these studies will not only assist in improving our understanding of soft tissue sarcoma but will lead to the development of new treatment strategies for patients with this disease.
