Dr. Brennan is a surgeon with special expertise in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas, endocrine tumors, and pancreatic and stomach cancers. He was Chairman of the Department of Surgery from 1985 until June 2006.

Dr. Brennan has designed and conducted numerous clinical trials that have produced major findings in the management of patients with soft tissue sarcomas and pancreatic cancer. He is currently responsible for international programs at MSK, which includes the triage of international patients, guidance of the international observer program, and evaluation of educational and collaborative programs with other international healthcare providers. He is also a spokesperson for Global Cancer Care delivery.
