This study is being done to see if most patients are willing and able to report how they are feeling after gynecologic cancer surgery using the Internet, and if this information can help doctors and nurses detect symptoms of concern after surgery.
This study uses a special Web site called STAR (“Symptom Tracking and Reporting for Patients”). Patients can log on to STAR and answer questions about how they are feeling. Doctors and nurses can then look at this information during clinic appointments.
Researchers are doing this study to determine if STAR is a helpful way to keep track of information about how patients are feeling and their quality of life. The information collected can be used to help find better ways of helping patients prepare for what they may go through while they recover from surgery.
