While undergoing cancer treatment, you may spend a significant amount of time at Memorial Sloan-Kettering for appointments and procedures.

We invite you to explore our activities that encourage relaxation and provide distractions. Many are made possible through the efforts of our staff and volunteers.

  • Art Therapy
    At Memorial Sloan-Kettering, we invite patients at the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center to participate in an art therapy program to find ways to express their experiences through art.
  • Canine Therapy
    Since 2007, our dedicated teams of therapy dogs and trained owners/handlers have visited hundreds of people undergoing treatment for cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
  • Complementary Therapies
    The Integrative Medicine Service offers services that manage symptoms and complement medical treatment while enhancing healing and promoting a sense of well-being.
  • Look Good Feel Better
    Professional makeup artists help cancer patients look their best.
  • Music Therapy
    Music therapy draws on the power of sound to help patients and their caregivers cope with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and to promote a sense of well-being and relaxation.
  • Nutrition
    Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s inpatients and outpatients can request a personal nutritional consultation with one of our certified dietition-nutritionists
  • Patient-to-Patient Support Program
    Memorial Sloan-Kettering has established a program through which former patients who are now well are available to meet with patients who are still in treatment.
  • Smoking Cessation Programs
    We are committed to helping you achieve your goal of living a smoke-free life. Our team of experts has extensive experience in helping people to quit smoking successfully and to manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms effectively.
  • Writing Program: Visible Ink
    Visible Ink program offers patients the opportunity to tell their stories within a positive, supportive structure.
