I am an Attending Clinical Chemist in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, which is responsible for the performance of clinical laboratory tests needed by the medical staff for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. As a laboratory director I oversee the performance of clinical laboratory testing and ensure the accuracy and quality of the results. I also provide clinical consultation to the medical staff regarding the ordering of diagnostic tests and the interpretation of the test results.
My clinical expertise includes the utilization of cancer biomarkers in the management of cancer patients and my research involves the development of new and improved diagnostic tests for this purpose. I am particularly interested in the investigation of cancer biomarkers for the evaluation of patients with breast or prostate cancer. Currently, I am also participating in studies investigating the possible link between vitamin D deficiency and the progression of breast cancer.
