I am a neurologist with special training and a research interest in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of strokes in people with cancer. I am the Medical Director of the Stroke Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and am also privileged to be affiliated with Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Neurology Service as a clinical researcher and academic scientist.

Strokes occur more commonly in individuals with cancer than in the general public, and my long-term goal is to improve physicians' abilities to diagnose and treat these unique patients. Currently I am working with Dr.  Lisa DeAngelis, Chair of Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Department of Neurology, on a clinical trial exploring the utility and safety of different blood-thinning strategies to prevent stroke recurrence in patients with cancer. This pivotal trial will be instrumental in determining the optimal medical therapy for cancer patients who suffer stroke.
