I joined the faculty of Memorial Hospital in 2008, after completing my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and spending two years as an Instructor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a hospitalist caring for patients on the General Medicine and GI Oncology services, I guide a team of interns, residents, and medical students who strive to deliver excellent inpatient care. As the Attending on these services, I participate in daily teaching of students, interns, and residents. Teaching more than just clinical medicine, I aim to impart analytical ability, good judgment, and critical thinking.
In addition to my clinical work, I am the Director of the Clinical Medicine and Oncology Subinternship at Memorial Hospital. I supervise the clinical and educational experience of fourth-year medical students rotating as subinterns on the inpatient oncology services. Approximately 60 students per year participate in this elective; of these students, half are from Weill Cornell Medical College and half are international students.
I also serve as Associate Director of Memorial Hospital’s Transitional-Year (TY) Residency Program, a one-year internship that provides graduate medical education in multiple clinical disciplines. I am integrally involved in the TY curriculum development; as well as in the recruitment process for the upcoming TY class, reviewing applications and conducting interviews to help ensure that we bring the highest caliber residents into this program.
As both an educator and a clinician, I aim to provide my trainees and students a fulfilling experience at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
