I am also interested in exploring how nutrition, herbs and other dietary supplements, stress control, exercise, and restorative sleep may help patients survive — and thrive.
I provide consultations for patients from other cancer treatment centers as well as Memorial Sloan-Kettering, and am happy to see patients during any part of their cancer journey — from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.
My interest in integrative oncology grew from two things. First came a curiosity about whether our daily choices — specific foods, exercise, sleep patterns, and so on — might have an effect on the progression of cancerous tumors. Second came the desire to answer this question using strict scientific methods.
Since lifestyle factors are at least somewhat under our control, I hope the answers to this question will provide tools cancer patients can use to help regain and maintain their health.
