I am a board-certified pathologist and director of Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Immunohistochemistry Laboratory. I examine tissue and blood samples and help diagnose and stage hematologic cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood diseases.
I am involved in a number of research studies designed to improve treatments for patients with these diseases using targeted therapies and stem cell transplants, and have contributed to more than 100 published studies in this area. I am also a member of Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Institutional Review Board and help determine which clinical trials doctors at the Center will participate in.
I have lectured nationally and internationally on advances in hematopathology.
