I am a trained biochemist and engineer who specializes in the use of advanced magnetic resonance imaging approaches to study cancer metabolism. I am a faculty member in the Department of Radiology as well as Laboratory Head in the Sloan-Kettering Institute’s Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry Program.
My laboratory focuses on the development of novel biochemical approaches using multi-modality imaging with emphasis in a new field of MRI, hyperpolarized magnetic resonance. These directions include endogenous small molecules to study metabolism, platforms for their interrogation and mechanisms for cancer therapy. Our translational research is aimed at taking these approaches from the bench to bedside to not only conduct fundamental research, but to directly impact the human condition.
