I am a medical oncologist who cares for people with tumors of the head and neck. My colleagues and I work closely with a very skilled group of surgeons and radiation oncologists to provide the most-effective cancer treatment available, based on each patient’s unique set of circumstances. 

In addition to our current treatment options, I am also keenly interested in developing new systemic therapies for people with head and neck cancers. One research goal is to develop new therapies for people with head and neck cancer caused by infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). With the incidence of HPV-related cancers on the rise, our team is aggressively searching for better ways to treat these cancers.  

On a national level, I serve on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Scientific Review Committees for several investigational chemotherapy drugs, as well as on the National Cancer Institute’s Taskforce for Recurrent and/or Metastatic Head and Neck Cancer. From 2007 to 2009, I chaired the Tobacco Subcommittee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Committee on Cancer Prevention.
