During the last six years my efforts have been exclusively devoted to developing an expertise in the use of robotic surgery to treat patients with cancers of the genitourinary system. I came back to Memorial Sloan-Kettering specifically to foster the development of the robotic surgical program at the Center. My goal in this new position is to optimize the use of this technology and to ensure that the very best results are achieved for each and every patient.
Robotic surgery is an evolving technology that must be carefully performed and rigorously evaluated. I have done over one thousand robotic cancer operations and have demonstrated that this innovative approach to surgery can achieve superlative outcomes while minimizing the side effects that can result from any surgical intervention.
My clinical research focuses on the novel application of new surgical technologies and developing optimal cancer treatment strategies for each individual patient.
