For Healthcare Professionals: Updates in Gynecologic Oncology

We offer comprehensive, leading-edge care for women with gynecologic cancers. Progress in minimally invasive surgery techniques, including refinements in robotics — we employ the latest da Vinci® Surgical System platforms — have transformed the treatment of these cancers. For patients with endometrial cancer, we routinely perform robotic-assisted hysterectomies and lymph node dissections that require an average length of stay of only one day. The sensitivity and specificity of our sentinel lymph node mapping approach spares many young women from complete lymph node dissection and attendant complications. Our innovations in radical trachelectomy for early cervical cancer have enabled many women to preserve their fertility. Notable as well are recent enhancements in chemotherapy regimens and progress in vaccine trials.
