Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Breast Screening Program has relocated from the Guttman Diagnostic Center to the fifth floor of the Breast and Imaging Center.
At this new location, our Breast Screening Program provides comprehensive, individualized breast cancer screening services. You can receive a mammogram, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, image-guided biopsy, or bone-density assessment (also known as bone densitometry) in our comfortable and supportive environment. Using state-of-the-art digital equipment, our technologists strive to minimize your discomfort while efficiently achieving the views needed for an accurate reading.
All breast cancer screening mammograms are read independently by two or more radiologists who specialize in breast imaging. With this double-reading approach, we can detect the highest number of breast cancers at the earliest stage possible. Our radiologists may also provide a recommendation for additional screening or perform an image-guided biopsy to confirm a diagnosis.
Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s breast cancer screening guidelines recommend that most women get a mammogram every year beginning at age 40, with annual mammography beginning earlier for women at a high risk for breast cancer.
To schedule breast imaging services or a bone-density assessment, please call 646-227-3700. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We also offer screening mammography appointments on the third Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
