Recombinant Human TSH Stimulation Test

This information explains the recombinant human TSH stimulation test.

You will get an injection of recombinant human TSH (Thyrogen) each day for two days in a row. Blood will be taken before the first injection and three days after the second injection. This is done to measure the amount of thyroglobulin (thyroid cancer tumor marker) in the blood. The results from this test are used to plan the rate and types of follow-up testing that you may need.
