Video: My Survivor Story: Joe Torre, Prostate Cancer Survivor

Runtime
05:00

Joe Torre, former manager of the New York Yankees, talks with Robert Wittes, Physician-in-Chief of Memorial Hospital, about getting back to normal after his treatment for prostate cancer. Torre says that employers should be sensitive to the physical and psychological demands of cancer, both during and after treatment. During his recuperation from prostate surgery, Torre sometimes felt that his own life-and-death battle with prostate cancer was more important than whether the team won the game. Torre knew he had turned the corner in his recovery when his desire to win returned.
