Thoughts and reflections from fellow cancer survivors
And so, this is cancer….AGAIN…Cancer is a villain who doesn’t play fair, but it can’t dim my spirit, and it can’t silence prayer.

What is worse than hearing the words, “You have breast cancer?” Hearing, “You have breast cancer, again.” Yet, fewer women are dying due to a number of reasons: self advocating for tests and advances taking place in diagnosis and treatment. Take care of your spirit and it will take care of you.

I made many new friends as a result of my illness- that is the silver lining in all of the clouds.

Breathe
BREATHE IN HOLD YOUR BREATH
The mechanical voice of the CAT scan startles me
I breathe in, hold my breath
have been holding my breath
for the past year
waiting
It shouts out instructions
BREATHE
I have to remind myself
to breathe
a simple thing
but I hold my breath anyway
what if it were the last one
I have to remember
Breathe in, Breathe out
Breath in, Breath out
In, out
Breathe…..
