Young Adult Survivorship Support Group: New Challenges/New Beginnings

Share

When treatment is over, a number of questions might go through your mind….

  • Why don’t I feel happy now that I’m finished treatment?
  • What and when do I tell a potential partner about my cancer history?
  • Is that headache, itchy spot, sore leg, toothache, etc. a sign that my cancer is back?
  •  When is this really over?

Unexpected emotions and practical concerns commonly arise after treatment is finished, adding to the disruption that cancer can create in a young person’s life. Join fellow young adults for a supportive discussion of issues unique to this population, including concerns about careers, dating, fertility, fears of recurrence, changed perspectives and finding a “new normal”.

This is an eight-session weekly group for young adults ages 21 to 39 years old who have completed treatment.
