Depression is not uncommon among people with cancer and among older individuals. In this study, researchers want to learn more about how to identify and measure depression in older people with cancer. They hope to use the results of this research to develop better ways to diagnose and treat depression in older cancer patients.
Patients will be asked to participate in two interviews about how the cancer diagnosis has affected their mood and their view of life, and general questions about their day and how they are feeling. Some participants will also be asked to complete a questionnaire about depression in older patients with cancer and to provide feedback about the questions.
