Description
Students will rotate on the Hepatopancreatobiliary Service, where they will contribute to and learn from the care of patients. They will scrub in to the operating room and participate in daily rounds and conferences. Course objectives include: comprehension of the principles of diagnosis and curative surgical treatment of patients with neoplastic disease, understanding of evolving multidisciplinary treatment and principles for palliation of patients with cancer, and an exploration of the biology and natural history of neoplasia. Students who are so inclined will have an opportunity to undertake a clinical project.

Notes:
- For any holidays listed, students must consult with the Medical Student Coordinator to determine whether they are released from their responsibilities.
- In the Clinical Medicine and Oncology Sub-Internship, students will be expected to take "short call" once or twice during the week in addition to one Saturday and/or Sunday during the four-week elective. No overnight call is taken.
