Completed applications should be returned by January 1, i.e., 18 months prior to the July 1 start date. Applications must include a curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation, one of which should be from the director of the applicant’s residency program. A personal interview is required, but may be waived under unique circumstances.
Length of Program
The neurosurgical fellowship is available to candidates who have completed the core residency training in neurosurgery. Applicants must be eligible for a New York State medical license and must obtain the license prior to beginning the fellowship. To obtain a New York State medical license, candidates are required to have had three years of residency training in the United States or Canada. Foreign applicants must have passed the ECFMG or FMGEMS, as well as the FLEX exams.
