Ajay Paul Sharma received an MS in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Long Island University, (Brooklyn, NY) in 2011 and a BS from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (Karnataka, India) in 2007. After receiving his Masters degree he subsequently volunteered in a research laboratory at UMASS medical school in Worcester, Massachusetts.
He joined the Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory in April 2012 and is currently involved in the Genes, Environment and Melanoma Study (GEM), whihc aims to unveil host genetic characteristics that predispose subjects to the development or progression of melanoma. His daily activities encompass, among others, performing experiments, processing incoming specimens, and interpreting the obtained results.
Ajay is pleased and motivated to start his career at the Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory and to become part of the research community at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
