Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a premier center of biomedical research, with researchers and clinicians working together at the nexus of basic science and clinical research. The Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate Faculty includes over 100 Memorial Sloan-Kettering scientists who work in fields ranging from cancer biology and genetics to structural biology, immunology, and genomic integrity. Many are physician-scientists, dividing their time between the laboratory bench and the bedside.

No matter what his or her specialty, every Gerstner Sloan-Kettering faculty member is a nationally recognized scientist, working at the forefront of biomedical research: nine are members of the National Academy of Sciences, six are Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators, eight are members of the Institute of Medicine, two are fellows of The Royal Society, and one is a Nobel laureate. (See Awards and Honors.) Reflecting their research success, Memorial Sloan-Kettering scientists currently hold more than $110 million in grant funds from the National Institutes of Health.

Our faculty members are experienced teachers and mentors. Postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, medical students, and undergraduate students are integral to the ongoing work within Memorial Sloan-Kettering laboratories. As a result, the faculty is eager to welcome fresh ideas and new perspectives.
