The nerves that travel from the
optic chiasm (place in the brain where some of the optic
nerve fibers cross) into certain parts of the brain involved in vision.

A bundle of fibers that receives and sends messages between the body and the brain. The messages are sent by chemical and electrical changes in the cells that make up the nerves.

optic chiasm (OP-tik ky-A-zum)
The place in the brain where some of the optic nerve fibers coming from one eye cross optic nerve fibers from the other eye. Also called optic chiasma.
