As a premier comprehensive cancer center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering is often approached by the media and other groups interested in finding out information and working with our staff. Each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by a media staff member in the Department of Public Affairs and when necessary with appropriate administrative, clinical, and research staff.
Our goal is to work with journalists to provide the public with information about cancer and the important work that is going on at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering is required by law to protect the privacy of our patients and to maintain the confidentiality of their identity and health-related information. This is our primary consideration when evaluating the potential participation of any public activity.
At times, Memorial Sloan-Kettering may decline participation, and the following is taken into consideration:
Unfortunately, we are unable to assist students or journalists-in-training with academic assignments because of our inability to allocate limited resources to such projects. In addition, because of the potential disruption to our clinical care areas and possible violation of patient privacy, we are unable to accommodate requests from patients to film, record, photograph, or otherwise chronicle their cancer care experiences, including tests, procedures, treatments, or consultations.
