Over the past two decades, new techniques to diagnose prostate cancer early in its progression have boosted the survival rate for men with all stages of prostate cancer combined from 67 percent to 92 percent, according to the American Cancer Society. The number of prostate cancer survivors is likely to continue to grow as treatments improve in the coming years.
