Nature's Youth, LLC, of Centerville, Massachusettes has completed a voluntary destruction of approximately $515,000 worth of its misbranded product, "Nature's Youth hGH".  The manufacturers claimed the supplement would, "improve physical performance, speed recovery from training, increase cardiac output, and increase immune functions." The supplement was also described as a "proprietary blend of amino acids and precursor nutrients which enhance the body's natural production of Human Growth Factors and Insulin-like Growth Factor-1." The company maintained that an article in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) substantiated their claim, however, the editor-in-chief of NEJM repudiated this association as misleading. The manufacturer also indicated that future marketing and labeling would comply with the law.
