This department processes cleaned and sterilized laboratory materials, such as glass, plastics and instruments, through a central administrative office and satellite processing facilities. Routine procedures allow collection, washing, drying, sterilization by steam autoclaving or high-temperature heating, and return of materials within 24 hours. Special techniques include acid-washing and RNase-free preparations.
