Health-Related Outcomes for Hodgkin's Disease Survivors

[Protocol 06-140]

Full Title :
HEALTH-RELATED OUTCOMES FOR HODGKIN DISEASE SURVIVORS (COG ALTE04N1)
Purpose :

Much is known about the late effects of treatment for Hodgkin's disease that was diagnosed before 1987. As a result of that knowledge, treatment was changed in the late 1980s to decrease those side effects.

In this study, investigators want to see how survivors are doing after receiving these newer treatments, in order to help patients treated for Hodgkin's disease after 1987 and children who are diagnosed with this disease in the future. The possible late effects of treatment that they will be looking for include heart problems, lung problems, hormonal problems, fertility disorders, second cancers, and psychological and social issues.

Eligibility :

Participants in this study will include survivors of Hodgkin's disease who were age 21 or younger at diagnosis and who were treated in 1987 or later through one of several clinical trials.

For more information about this study, please contact Dr. Tanya Trippett at 212-639-8267 or Dr. Kevin Oeffinger at 212-639-8469.
