- A PROSPECTIVE STUDY OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH INVASIVE BLADDER CANCER
- Purpose :
The purpose of this study is to learn about the quality of life of people living with invasive bladder cancer. Researchers are interested in learning how bladder cancer treatments affect patients. They plan to use the findings from this study to help doctors provide better care and information to patients with invasive bladder cancer.
Participants in this study will include patients scheduled to undergo surgical removal of the bladder as treatment for invasive bladder cancer. They will complete interviews and surveys about their quality of life before surgery and 6, 12, 18, and 24 months after surgery. Examples of questions in the surveys include those regarding urinary and bowel problems, sexual function, recovery from surgery, general health, activity level, and mood.
- Eligibility :
Participants in this study will include English-speaking adult patients scheduled to undergo surgical removal of the bladder as treatment for invasive bladder cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
