[18F]FACBC PET imaging for gliomas

[Protocol 08-142]

Full Title :
[18F] FACBC AND [18F] FLT PET IMAGING FOR GLIOMAS
Purpose :

The purpose of this study is to help understand gliomas by visualizing them using positron emission tomography (PET) before and after treatment. PET scans use radioactive markers to image cancer cell activity. Researchers plan to use the [18F]FACBC radioactive marker to see if a patient's glioma responds to the recommended treatment.

Investigators expect these images will provide information about gliomas and may help them understand why a particular treatment affects tumors. The amount of radioactivity exposure to each patient's tumor, brain, and other organs will also be measured.

Eligibility :

This study includes patients newly diagnosed with glioma who are scheduled to begin treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering with anti-AKT and/or anti-VEGF-directed therapies.

For more information about this study, please contact Jenna Monaster at 212-639-6037.
