A Phase II Study of TLN-4601 in Patients with Glioblastoma Multiforme

[Protocol 08-160]

Full Title :
A PHASE II STUDY OF TLN-4601 IN PATIENTS WITH GLIOBLASTOMA MULTIFORME (PROTOCOL NUMBER: TLN-4601-201)
Purpose :

Glioblastoma multiforme is an aggressive form of brain cancer that is very difficult to treat successfully. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug called TLN-4601 in patients with glioblastoma multiforme that has recurred or progressed despite prior therapy.

Laboratory studies have shown that TLN-4601 can slow the growth of cancer cells. TLN-4601 is believed to work by blocking important molecular pathways used by tumors to grow.

Eligibility :

To be eligible for this study, patients must meet several criteria, including but not limited to the following:

  • Patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme.
  • Patients must have previously been treated with surgery, radiation therapy, and one first-line course of systemic therapy.
  • At least 2 weeks must have passed since major surgery, 3 weeks since systemic therapy, and 12 weeks since radiation therapy and entry into the study.
  • Patients must not be confined to a bed or chair for more than half of their normal waking hours.
  • Patients must be age 18 or older.
