Colorectal Cancer Survivors' Needs and Preferences for Survivorship Information

[Protocol 09-133]

Full Title :
COLORECTAL CANCER SURVIVORS' NEEDS AND PREFERENCES FOR SURVIVORSHIP INFORMATION
Purpose :

Researchers are conducting this study to learn more about colon and rectal cancer survivors. They want to know if survivors want more information about their own cancer and life after cancer -- such as their own diagnosis and its treatment and what kind of health care they should get in the future. The information learned from this study will help healthcare professionals know what types of information to give to cancer survivors when they finish treatment.

Participants will complete a telephone interview asking them about their diagnosis, the care they had for their cancer, the doctors they have seen since being treated for cancer, and what they think survivors should know about their health after being treated for cancer. Researchers will also examine each participant's medical record.

Eligibility :

Participants in this study will include English-speaking adults who completed treatment for colon or rectal cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center between 6 months and 2 years ago.

For more information about this study, please contact Dr. Talya Salz at 646-735-8082.
