Summer Student and Physician Mentors

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center offers an eight-week summer fellowship research program to medical students who are interested in the field of oncology and related biomedical research. Supported by the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute (NIH/NCI) and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training, the summer fellowship program offers students who have completed their first or second year of medical school the opportunity to conduct basic laboratory or clinical research mentored by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center faculty sponsors. Students in the program will:

  • Gain clinical or laboratory research experience
  • Interact with world-renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center faculty
  • Participate in a weekly lecture series
  • Attend a wide variety of institutional lectures, departmental conferences and meetings
  • Present their summer research to fellowship peers at a seminar-style session moderated by MSKCC faculty during the final week of the program

Applications to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center summer fellowship program are no longer being accepted. Students who have been accepted to the program will be notified on a rolling basis beginning March 1 and continuing through March 31. All students will be notified of their status by March 31.
