What to expect

When you arrive, you should check in at the Pediatric Day Hospital's registration desk, located on the ninth floor of 425 East 67th Street. (Take the "B" elevators to the ninth floor.)

After you have checked in, your child will be screened and have his or her temperature and weight recorded. Then you will meet the doctor who will examine your child and decide whether blood tests and any x-ray scans should be ordered. If you have any information from your pediatrician or other doctors who have evaluated or treated your child, it may be reviewed at this time.

Some tests will be done the day of your first visit, while others may be scheduled for the future. The tests recommended for your child will be explained to you. If you have any questions, please ask.

Our recreation facilities and staff are available for your child to help make this time easier. There are group activities, computer games, music and toys for all ages.

Your team's social worker will also be available to assist you and your family.

The hospital is located on Manhattan's lively and safe Upper East Side, a thriving residential neighborhood that is home to some of New York City's best resources.
