Description:

The purpose of this elective is to provide senior medical students with an opportunity to actively participate in the care of the critically ill cancer patient. Each student will function at the sub-intern level under the direct supervision of a fellow specializing in Critical Care Medicine. Basic skills of managing respiratory failure, acid-base imbalance, renal and hepatic failure, coagulation defects and hemodynamic abnormalities will be acquired.
