Description:

Psychiatric research studies with cancer patients and families are available for student participation. The areas of investigation include studies of quality of life of cancer and AIDS patients, coping, psychotherapy interventions, physician-patient communication, cancer survivors, cancer prevention and public health, pediatric cancer patients, smoking cessation, and psychological issues of genetic testing.

Students may work in two to three module blocks on one of the projects outlined in which they will learn research design, methods of psychologic assessment, clinical interviewing and data analysis.


Prerequisites Other Than Third Year Rotations:
Upon receipt of a completed application, a telephone interview with the student may be requested.
