Description:

Students will rotate on the Gastric and Mixed Tumor and Colorectal Services, where they will contribute to and learn from the care of patients. They will scrub in the Operating Room and participate in daily rounds and conferences. Course objectives include: comprehension of the principles of diagnosis and curative surgical treatment of patients with neoplastic disease, understanding of evolving multidisciplinary treatment and principles for palliation of patients with cancer, and an exploration of the biology and natural history of neoplasia. Students who are so inclined will have an opportunity to undertake a clinical project.
