Being a teenager is hard enough as it is, and when cancer is added to the usual ups and downs of your teen years it can sometimes seem more than a little overwhelming. But as lots of teens and young adults before you have found out, there are ways to deal with the challenges. Put together with the help of teenagers who have lived through the experience, this section is designed to give you the straight-up truth about what it's like to have cancer as a teenager, while also giving you a place to share some of your hopes, thoughts, and fears.
Whether you want to know about losing your hair, what to do to avoid being bored while in treatment, or how cancer may affect your personal life, you're sure to have lots of questions. To help you sort everything out, this section gives answers to questions that teens ask.
Sometimes, the best way to deal with all the feelings you have building up inside you about what you're going through is to write them down in a song, a poem, a story, or even expressing them in a drawing. See some examples of teens and their poems, artwork, and more in our Sounding Board section, found in the navigation column to the left.
At your age, it seems like everybody is giving you advice about how to live your life. In this section, teens get the chance to return the favor, giving advice to everybody else in their lives -- family, doctors, nurses, siblings, and friends -- about how you like to be treated. Read Advice from Teens, found in the navigation column to the left.
