Faculty Positions in Biostatistics
The faculty engage in collaborative research with clinical and basic research scientists throughout the Center and conduct scholarly research on biostatistical methodology motivated by the collaborative research activities. Areas of research focus include: clinical trials of biologic and chemotherapeutic agents, immunologic interventions, radiologic imaging studies, cancer prevention, epidemiology, statistical genetics, and psychometric studies. These positions require a doctoral degree in biostatistics or statistics; the level of appointment is based on experience and credentials.
Faculty Positions in Epidemiology
Open position for Cancer Epidemiologist Faculty
The faculty conduct research on the etiology of cancers or related topics. Study of genetic susceptibility is carried out in the Epidemiology Service Genetics Laboratory. These positions require a doctoral degree in Epidemiology or related discipline. The level of appointment is based on experience and credentials.
Faculty Positions in Health Outcomes Research
Open positions for Health Outcomes Faculty
The faculty study patterns and delivery of cancer treatments as well as the outcomes of these treatments. Data are gathered from large databases such as the SEER cancer registry and claims/discharge information from the Center for Medicare Services. These positions require a doctoral degree in medicine, statistics, or a related discipline. The level of appointment is based on experience and credentials.
Research Biostatistician
Open position for Research Biostatistician
Research Biostatisticians work as members of a team of statisticians who are engaged in a wide variety of collaborative projects in clinical, laboratory and cancer prevention research (See Faculty Position in Biostatistics). A three level promotional track supports professional development which is fostered through direct supervision of work and regular participation in Service activities such as the Design Workshop, guest and faculty seminars, and the Journal Club. These positions require a Master's degree in biostatistics or statistics, proficiency in statistical software packages, database manipulation, and good verbal and written communications skills.
Research Epidemiologist
Research Epidemiologists work as members of the Epidemiology group, engaged in studying the etiology of cancers, the genetic predisposition for cancers, and other avenues of prevention research (See Faculty Position, Epidemiology). A two level promotional track supports professional development which is fostered through direct supervision of work and regular participation in activities such as seminars, and the Epidemiology Journal Club. These positions require a Master's degree in Epidemiology and/or Public Health, experience in statistical software packages, database manipulation, and good verbal and written communications skills.
Outcomes Research Epidemiologist
Outcomes Research Epidemiologists work as members of the Outcomes Research Group studying patterns and delivery of cancer treatments as well as the outcomes of these treatments. These positions require a Master's degree in Epidemiology and/or Public Health, excellence in the analysis of data and writing of SAS queries and programs, experience with large database manipulations, and good verbal and written communications skills.
Programmer/Analyst Positions in the Computing Resource
Open position for Associate Application Analyst
Programmer/Analyst positions exist at several levels. All team members participate in multiple clinical research applications and computer system development projects simultaneously. Team members come with experience in relational database methodology (Oracle preferred), knowledge of SQL and C ++ languages and UNIX and NT administration. Staff members participate actively in design collaborations; therefore good verbal and written communication skills are helpful.
