Leah Ben-Porat, MS
Research Biostatistician

Current Research Interests:
Ms. Ben-Porat's collaborations are with the Radiation Oncology and Hepatobiliary Services and more recently Fanconi Anemia group and Melanoma service. She has been involved in many projects including 1) the analysis of an 1800 patient database of liver cancer patients undergoing resection, 2) the absence of a telomere maintenance mechanism as a favorable prognostic factor in patients with osteosarcoma, 3) the relationship between human papillomavirus DNA and p53 polymorphisms in squamous cell carcinomas from Fanconi anemia patients, and 4) the influence of transfusions on perioperative and long-term outcome in patients following hepatic resection for colorectal metastases. She also designed and taught a two-part SAS course for members of the Epidemiology group.

Ms. Ben-Porat has collaborated with Jaya Satagopan in describing how to analyze competing risks in survival analysis and have put together a review paper on this topic for the clinical audience.
