Major Research Areas
Molecular Pharmacology & Chemistry

Specimen Core

Victor Reuter, MD; William Gerald, MD, PhD

The objective of the Biospecimen Repository Core is to support the translational research efforts of the SPORE by being the central facility for all issues related to tissue samples including collecting, storing, and interpreting specimens.

Biostatistics Core

Glenn Heller, PhD; Andrew Vickers, D Phil

The Biostatistics Core assists SPORE researchers with experimental design, analysis of results using appropriate statistical methodology, and interpretation.

Animal Models Core

Pier Paolo Pandolfi, PhD; David Shaffer, MD, PhD

The Animal Models Core offers SPORE researchers more than a dozen genetically engineered mutant mouse models of prostate cancer to be used in answering scientific and pre-clinical questions.

Animal Imaging Core

Jason Koutcher, MD, PhD; Steve Larson, MD

The Small Animal Imaging Core supports the research efforts of the SPORE by providing investigators the imaging resources to define a prostate cancer signature, especially at the molecular level.

Administration Core

Peter T. Scardino, MD; Carlos Cordon-Cardo, MD, PhD

The Administration Core supports the translational research objectives of the SPORE by providing the administrative infrastructure, financial management, information systems support, and editorial assistance to the investigators.
