Each insurance carrier has an established payment rate for each test, procedure, or other medical service. This rate can be called either usual, customary, and reasonable (UCR), or reasonable and customary. Memorial Sloan-Kettering's charges may be different from an insurer's payment. Patients are responsible for paying any difference between our charges and the carrier's payments.
